I was born and raised in St. Paul and have lived on the West Side for the 40 + years. I’m a Latina who is passionate about so many issues including the environment. I have been a birder for close to 19 years and photographer for about nine years. I’ve appreciated the support given to me by other birders & photographers and will continue to absorb and grow.
My real interest in taking bird photos and sharing them is to let others see the beauty that is right in front of them (okay maybe above them). I want people to understand the connection of all things to the earth and how important it is to protect the habitats for all animals all over this planet. I want kids to enjoy the amazing natural environments (parks, lakes, rivers) we have here in the Twin Cities and MN. By letting kids experience nature, I hope that they too will want to protect it for themselves and the next generation.
We need to think about big picture opportunities to stop the destruction of the planet and while we are doing that we can individually do things that will support habitats instead of destroy them. It’s not just about planting a tree or flower; it’s about planting trees and flowers that are truly beneficial to the birds, bees and butterflies!
We have so much so close to us here on the West Side as I'm sure you have great beauty where you live...get out and enjoy it!!!
